Commax Ventures officially launches ‘Venturers Class 2020,’ a ‘K-Global Accelerator Development Program

‘K-Global Accelerator Development Program’ Supports Overseas Expansion and Investment for ICT Startups

Commax Ventures Co., Ltd. (CEO Woo-seok Byun) announced that it has completed the recruitment and selection of participating teams for the ‘K-Global Accelerator Development Program’ (program name: Venturers Class 2020), a program designed to support overseas expansion and investment for startups in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, and has officially launched the program.
The final participants selected for Venturers Class 2020 include six startups established within the past three years and two prospective startup teams.

The kickoff event for Venturers Class 2020 was held on the afternoon of the 3rd at the event hall on the first floor of the Commax Ventures Tipstown Center in Gangnam, Seoul. Executives from participating companies—Nature Mobility, Nubylab, Blackwidow, Allvoice, Insizer, MedInTech, Asleep, and WARP—as well as representatives from related organizations attended the event, where the program overview and introductions of key personnel were presented.

Running until November 30, Venturers Class 2020 spans approximately five months and provides participating startups with company-specific diagnostic mentoring, customized scale-up mentoring and training, investment capability enhancement coaching and seminars, overseas programs, and IR/demo days.

Kyung-sook Kim, Senior Investment Reviewer at Commax Ventures, stated, “Startups participating in the program will receive practical support, including opportunities for overseas market entry and investment fundraising,” adding, “Commax Ventures is an accelerator specialized in European market expansion and investment attraction.”
She also added, “We are making every effort to prepare alternative programs, fully considering scenarios in which overseas programs may not be feasible due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The ‘K-Global Accelerator Development Program’ is an initiative in which the Ministry of Science and ICT annually selects private accelerators and entrusts them with discovering early-stage founders and supporting their growth. This year, accelerators specialized in responding to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including artificial intelligence (AI), fifth-generation (5G) mobile communications, and blockchain, were recruited, and six organizations, including Commax Ventures, were selected.

Meanwhile, the event was conducted in compliance with COVID-19 preventive guidelines, including temperature checks and hand sanitization for all attendees.
