Hanam Mayor Sang-ho Kim met with CEOs of tenant companies at the Hanam Startup Campus on the 24th and pledged to “create an environment in which startups can grow into star companies.”

During the meeting held at the campus located in the Misa Korea Development Bank (KDB) IT Center in Mangwol-dong, Mayor Kim met with 10 startup CEOs and stated, “The city will stand together with tenant companies in both their present and future.”

The meeting was hosted by the City of Hanam and the Hanam Urban Innovation Corporation, and was attended by Mayor Kim, Choong-sik Ahn, Acting President of the corporation, tenant company CEOs, and related officials.

To intensively foster startups in the bio-health sector with strong growth potential, Hanam City signed an agreement with the Hanam Urban Innovation Corporation to establish the campus on 587 square meters on the third floor of the Misa KDB IT Center, with its official opening scheduled for March.

At the meeting, participating CEOs shared their business plans for this year and exchanged views with Mayor Kim and other officials on the future direction of the bio-health industry.

According to the campus, in order to accelerate startup growth, it plans to build a cluster centered around general hospitals, industry–academia cooperation organizations, investment institutions, large and small-to-medium enterprises, and startup-related organizations.

Customized support programs are also being prepared to nurture tenant companies and ensure sustainable management, including accelerating (commercialization) programs and specialized startup education.

Mayor Kim said, “By fostering innovative startups, we will secure self-sustaining capabilities while creating a Hanam-style corporate ecosystem model in which advanced companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, and large corporations coexist and thrive together, transforming Hanam into a sustainable city.”

Acting President Choong-sik Ahn stated, “We have recruited personnel with professional expertise and created spaces dedicated to startup activities to support startup development,” adding, “We will continue to prepare various support measures to promote startup growth.”

Meanwhile, the campus held a startup competition last December to recruit tenant companies. A total of 51 companies applied, and after evaluation, 10 companies were ultimately selected.

The selected companies—MLP Co., Ltd. (customized pressure ulcer prevention cushions), KDOT Korea Co., Ltd. (Korea–Southeast Asia healthcare information platform), Anymed (multifunctional healthcare devices for infants and young children), Ncores Co., Ltd. (skin/scalp care devices), LN Robotics Co., Ltd. (robot-assisted cardiovascular intervention systems), MedInTech Co., Ltd. (AI-based medical endoscopes), SeolLab Co., Ltd. (functional cosmetics and dry tissues), Nix Co., Ltd. (comprehensive sleep care systems), Deungja Co., Ltd. (next-generation bicycle pedals), and Atoplex Co., Ltd. (infectious disease diagnostic test kits)—are startups with strong potential in the bio-health sector.

The campus plans to begin full-scale startup support, including program assistance, once the selected companies start moving in from the 25th of this month.
