The Pre-Startup Package is a program operated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Young Lee) and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) to support successful business creation by prospective founders with innovative technology-based startup ideas. The program provides commercialization funding, mentoring, and networking support.

MedInTech Co., Ltd., which completed the 2020 Pre-Startup Package as a top-rated company, has successfully achieved the localization of technology in the flexible gastrointestinal endoscopy field, which had previously relied 100% on imports. After completing the program in 2020, the company has demonstrated strong growth by attracting a KRW 8 billion Series A investment, earning recognition for its high potential and technological capability.

During his visit to MedInTech, KISED President Yong-moon Kim listened to discussions on the company’s founding background, outcomes achieved through participation in the Pre-Startup Package, future business plans, and operational challenges.

Chi-won Lee, CEO of MedInTech, stated:
“We have completed the development of an innovative motorized flexible endoscope and are preparing for FDA approval to enter overseas markets. Through the Pre-Startup Package, we received not only government funding for prototype development required for motorized flexible endoscopes, but also support across various areas essential in the early stages of entrepreneurship, including investment preparation, labor management, finance, and legal review.” He emphasized the tangible outcomes achieved through participation in the program.

He added:
“Going forward, we plan to expand our flexible endoscope product portfolio across multiple medical specialties—including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy—develop various endoscopy-linked software solutions that enhance usability for medical professionals and reduce misdiagnosis, and further extend our business into industrial endoscopes and veterinary endoscopes.”

In response, KISED President Yong-moon Kim remarked:
“Through the Pre-Startup Package, prospective founders with innovative ideas are successfully progressing toward commercialization after founding their companies. We will continue to expand the program so that it can serve as an effective gateway to successful entrepreneurship.”
