Smart Medical Device Co-Growth Forum to Host “Hospital–Industry Pairing Day”
[Rapportian] The Smart Medical Device Co-Growth Forum (Chairman: Lee Gyu-seong), the Korea Smart Medical Device Industry Promotion Foundation (Chairman: Song Jeong-han), and Chonbuk National University Hospital (President: Yoo Hee-cheol) will jointly host the “Hospital–Industry Pairing Day” over two days, from the 29th to the 30th of this month, at Chonbuk National University Hospital.
The event was organized to promote mutually beneficial cooperation between hospitals and companies in order to expand the use of domestically developed medical devices. It will consist of ▲seminars ▲an exhibition ▲standardization and expert consulting sessions.
The exhibition will take place from 12:00 PM on August 29 to 5:00 PM on August 30 in the lobby in front of Moakhall on B1 of the hospital’s main building. The seminar will be held from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on August 30 in Baekje Hall, B1 of the Senior Healthcare Center.
Six companies will participate in the exhibition: MedInTech, Human Skin Clinical Trial Center, Huons Meditech, Medihub, WikiCRO, and BNR. Medical staff—including clinicians, residents, and nurses from Chonbuk National University Hospital—will visit the booths and provide feedback from a user’s perspective.
At the seminar on the 30th, presentations will cover the following topics:
Introduction to Chonbuk National University Hospital’s clinical research infrastructure (Myung-Hwan Ko, Director, Biomedical Research Institute, Chonbuk National University Hospital)
Introduction to the Medical Device Mediation Clinical Trial Support Center and corporate support cases (Ki-Uk Kim, Deputy Director, Chonbuk National University Hospital)
Introduction to the Carbon-Based Medical Device Development Support Center and related research outcomes (Kap-Soo Han, Center Director, Chonbuk National University Hospital)
Policy directions and detailed support measures for the domestic medical device industry (Man-Pyo Lee, Team Leader, Korea Health Industry Development Institute)
Guidance on the health insurance medical service listing process (Soo-Jin Hwang, Head of Review & Assessment Department, Jeonju Branch, Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service)
The importance of linking standards (regulatory approval) in national R&D projects (Young Heo, Vice Chairman, Korea Smart Medical Device Industry Promotion Foundation)
Economic evaluation of medical devices under insurance reimbursement criteria (Yo-Han Jeong, Team Leader, Korea Smart Medical Device Industry Promotion Foundation)
Following the presentations, a “Key Doctor Training Program for the Use of Domestic Medical Devices,” part of an on-site education and training initiative, will be conducted starting at 2:00 PM.
Vice Chairman Heo Young stated, “Unlike large-scale medical device exhibitions, this Hospital–Industry Pairing Day enables practical co-growth by allowing hospital medical staff—the actual users of medical devices—to visit exhibition booths and provide direct feedback.” He added, “The Co-Growth Forum and the Foundation will continue to host in-hospital exhibitions to promote the excellence of domestic medical devices and to advance product sophistication through clinician feedback, ultimately increasing adoption in tertiary hospitals.”
Details of the event and participation registration can be found in the notices section of the Korea Smart Medical Device Industry Promotion Foundation website (www.medif.or.kr).
