Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency announced on the 18th that it successfully co-hosted the K-Hospital Biz Partnership program in collaboration with KOTRA as part of the Boom Up Korea initiative.

Boom Up Korea is a KOTRA-led program that connects Korean companies with overseas buyers in fields such as materials/components/equipment, energy, ICT, and biotechnology, featuring product promotion, export consultations, and exhibition showcases at COEX. This year, in the biotechnology sector, the K-Hospital Biz Partnership program was specially arranged in cooperation with the Regional Training & Education Center for Korean Medical Devices operated by the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency.

Through this program, 15 overseas buyers from 9 countries—including China, Italy, Türkiye, Nigeria, Tanzania, Jordan, and Côte d’Ivoire—participated in an on-site visit to the Seongnam Regional Training & Education Center for Korean medical devices.

At the center, participants were introduced to the K-medical device education and training center business model supported by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, and Seongnam City, as well as the research infrastructure of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. They also had opportunities to directly experience products from seven Korean medical device companies and engage in consultations.

The companies participating in product demonstrations included:

  • LIVSMED (laparoscopic surgical instruments)

  • BrainU (anesthesia depth monitoring device)

  • MedInTech (upper gastrointestinal endoscopy system)

  • SumTech (3D surgical microscope)

  • MediHub (digital automatic injector)

  • Daehwa Medical (ultrasonic surgical device)

  • Medit (3D intraoral scanner)

All showcased products incorporated innovative K-medical device technologies.

Khaled Talafha, General Manager of Jordanian Arab Company from Jordan, who participated in the event, stated,

“It was very impressive and surprising to directly experience Korea’s advanced and digitalized medical device technologies. If Korean medical devices are introduced, they are expected to greatly benefit both medical staff and patients in terms of effectiveness, convenience, and time savings.”

An official from the Seongnam Regional Center, which co-hosted the K-Hospital Biz Partnership, commented,

“To ensure the sustainable growth of the K-medical device industry amid intense global competition, we will continue to expand education and training, exhibitions, and hands-on marketing support programs that connect companies, overseas buyers, and medical professionals.”
