Enhancing Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Quality and Minimizing Repeat Examinations Through Real-Time Abnormality Detection

MedInTech, a company specializing in smart motorized endoscopy systems and AI software development (CEO: Chi-Won Lee), announced that it has supplied its AI-based abnormality detection software, MD-GA-300, to KMI Korea Medical Institute (Chairman: Gwang-Bae Lee, hereinafter KMI).
Founded in 1985, KMI is a leading health screening institution in Korea, operating health checkup centers at major locations nationwide, including Seoul (Gwanghwamun, Yeouido, and Gangnam), as well as Suwon, Daegu, Busan, Gwangju, and Jeju.
MedInTech’s MD-GA-300 is a medical AI software approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). When integrated with gastrointestinal endoscopy equipment, it analyzes and detects abnormal areas in real time, simultaneously assessing both the overall organ structure and localized lesions within endoscopic images.
This enables rapid detection of sub-centimeter-level micro lesions that may be easily overlooked by the naked eye, while maintaining high precision even when lesion boundaries are unclear. In addition, an advanced false-positive suppression algorithm minimizes unnecessary alerts, optimizing the balance between sensitivity and specificity.
With this implementation, KMI expects to enhance the reliability and accuracy of endoscopic examinations, reduce unnecessary repeat tests as well as patient anxiety and discomfort, and enable faster identification of subtle abnormalities that are easy to miss.
MedInTech CEO Chi-Won Lee stated, “MD-GA-300 complements the expertise of medical professionals, helping improve examination quality and reduce repeat procedures,” adding, “Starting with its adoption at KMI, we will continue to expand its deployment so that more patients can benefit from safer and more precise examinations.”
